Davidson - specific parks

I would like some help identifying 10, 20 or so parks in Nashville that are primarily greenways, remote, do not have athletic fields etc. I know a few such as

Beaman
Shelby Bottoms
Warner? Parks

But there are 110+ Metro parks. I need to identify as many as possible that are not "youth recreation" or "school adjacent" parks.

Percy & Edwin Warner are two of the largest (and wildest, in an urban wilderness sense) city parks in the country.

I can recall 2 or 3 bodies found in them (one by a college acquaintance), and sometime in the 1980s, the majority of Edwin's roads were closed, ostensibly to allow the roads to be used as nature walkways. However, the general "word on the street" was due to the high crime there.

To speak directly to your question:
There are a couple of ball fields in Edwin, and some flat areas that may have soccer goals. It also borders the new Highway 100 Ensworth Campus.
There are public golf courses on 2 sides of Percy.

Shelby has a regular golf course, and the Vinny Links.

More when I can research it.

The red highlighted ones are of particular concern as they are made of (in whole or in part) of public roads and/or sidewalks.

BTW, David, How'd you like to break the new law without knowing it?

The area in front of the Metro Courthouse is designated Public Square and is under Metro Park's control.

David.

I see what you mean.

Doesn't that trail cross the road behind the old Jack Daniels Warehouse or Nashville Gas?

If not, thanks for the correction.

I remember what the concern for t\the Cumberland River Metro Center Greenway was now.

What is the boundary?

If I step off the parking lot of some of those warehouse docks, I am standing on the levy.

Am I in a park or on commercial property?

Regarding the bodies and such;

Council Maynard will try to tell you that there is no crime in our parks.

That's an insult to me considering I found a body in Shelby back in the 80's.

I remember the gang that was robbing golfers on the Shelby course until a few fellows pack in a different kind of iron in their golf bags.

Maynard will tell you that it never happened.

Of course he will also tell you that their are no gangbangers around Hadley Park.

Harpeth River Greenway
Morton Mill Road, Bellevue
[Expansion underway]
One-mile paved trail with boardwalk and river overlook.

This is right next to my house, and is nothing more than a side walk next to the road (I'll note the ONLY sidewalk for a large part of Morton Mill Road).

Ok, I've got a really dumb question.. maybe somebody can help me with this...

There is a 'park' labeled on google maps near my house... See link:

You'll note it's Labeled as 'Bellevue State Park'

I've called (state parks) and found out this is land owned by the state and is managed by Metro Parks... Since this land is owned by the State can Metro close this park of it's own accord? Or would the state also have to approve the posting of this site?

I'm curious how many other 'local' parks this could impact?

Am I way off base here?

I was pretty sure I saw it listed but can't find it now in the 544 page report.

It's right next to the Library, & across from Bellevue Church of Christ. Can't think of the corner on which it sits, though.
