Constitutional Carry

Postby Mousegun » Sun Jul 19, 2015 10:08 am

So here is a pipe dream I often have. There are a few states that actually recognize our Constitution and allow people to carry without the revenue generating and cumbersome need for a permit. They are, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Vermont and Wyoming.

John works diligently to try to improve our rights as law abiding residents, the RINOS got out of the zoo and made their way to Nashville, so he faces an up hill battle just to get some of the simple and obvious things improved in the legislative process.

I can not see the day that Tennessee gets Constitutional carry legislation through. I can only hope that some day the restrictions of the "No guns" signs in public businesses, get removed and we no longer face the legal charges they impose like in a number of other states, Florida for example.

For all those who say, "Their business, their rules," keep in mind that the "No guns" signs could also be considered a violation of the Second Amendment by some and there are times that not patronizing the business can become impractical. EG: Out with the family you are keeping safe with your firearm and with a group of "others", far from the car, all the others chose to go in a signed location. Difficult situation to say the least.

Putting the carry provisions in the hands of the Goment scares me a bit, especially if it was this administration or one like it.

I would keep a Tn. carry permit even if we went constitutional simply for the sake of being able to go to other states that honor, but to rely on the Feds to make the rules for us all could be a recipe for disaster.

It is a if we are between the proverbial rock and a hard place.

The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution reads: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Afew definitions are needed:
Militia: forces temporarily raised from the general population to aid the state in time of need.
Regulated: provisioned, trained, armed/equipped
Right: an entitlement to do something
People: the civilian population of a state.
Keep: posess, own, hold
Bear: carry for use
Arms: the sidearms in common use in a society or military unit of an army
Infringed: hindered, denied, stopped,
So all gun laws passed since 1930 (at least) are unconstitutional
