The White-tailed Deer Breeding and Farming Act needs to be killed. This is a bad situation and this type of “farming” may be the cause of Chronic Waste Disease. Right now we do not have this in Tennessee and it will devastate the deer herd once it gets here. We do not need to accelerate the process of spreading the disease. Deer Farming could do just that. There is no known way to test deer for this disease when the “farmers” import the deer and it only takes just one case. Testing can only be done by killing the deer and analyzing the brain matter of the deer. Call your reps and tell them absolutely NO on HB1112 by Niceley (SB1568 by Ketron) Deer Breeding Farm Act.
The Adventure Tourism Bill is a good bill. I would suggest to call and ask to have the “shooting sports” included in the bill.
The OHV Act to transfer from TWRA to TDEC will be heard in the Conservation Subcommittee for 4/12/2011)
Please pass this on.
