Subj: Harwell = Sontany with an R ?
Even observers away from Nashville politics can't help but notice several similarities between Rep. Harwell and Rep. Sontany.
The message that voters sent this month was NOT that we want a Pelosi-like elitist representing our state.
The facts on Rep. Harwell's record:
Rep. Harwell supported the election commissions remaining in Democrat control after Republicans gained a majority in the legislature. By law, the majority party is to have a 3-2 majority on the election commissions.
The 2nd amendment legislation that Rep. Harwell voted against are:
HB 0176 Guns in Parks (No)
HB 0962 '09 Restaurant Carry (No) Gov. Bredesen Veto 0verride '09 (No)
SB 3012 '10 Restaurant Carry (No)
Gov. Bredesen Veto 0verride '10 (No)
Rep. Harwell also voted for a 1 cent sales tax increase that resulted in over 1 billion dollars cost to tax payers.
Rep. Harwell would not sign on as a sponsor of Senate Joint Resolution 127 as relating to Pro-life issues in Tennessee. The bill moves to place the authority to change abortion laws out of the hands of the courts and place the authority with the voters of Tennessee.
Rep. Harwell also voted no to TennCare Reform. SB 3895 Tenn Care Reform (No)
We did our part November 2nd, now it's up to our Representatives that we hired.

Pat McGarrity
