Between the condescending speech about Tennessee gun owners and the sheer ignorance of some of the questions, I got so mad I almost missed the vote.
I'm beginning to find it scary that they really do not know what they do when they pass a bill into law. There were genuine questions from people that wanted to vote for the bill but their understanding of what they were voting on was just sad.
I loved the question about who was responsible for "spotting" the concealed carry in the bar and enforcing the law if the bill was passed and I thought to myself, "The same person that does it now, you stupid #$%^". He was almost asking, "Do I have to throw out the big bad boogieman and his gun by myself if I have one of those little signs?"
John, does any of them see the silliness of how they seem to overlook the point that pure bars, "joints", and honky tonks are not allowed liquor license under our current laws but they all smile and bow to them anyway.
Yes, it passed. But I walked away from the hill with the realization that we really don't have leaders and thinkers up there representing some of parts of Tennessee. I thought the trouble always came from Naifeh and the trash from Memphis but I'm not so sure that our Maryville buddy hasn't been working behind the scenes.
I regret that the flood did not make it up the hill as that building needs a flush.
