Unbelievable. It's hard to believe that someone would actually think this was acceptable.

So, if a cop is "unfamiliar" with the laws he swore to uphold, it's OK to just do whatever, including stomping on my Rights in the process.

I need to become a cop, because every other job in the world requires you to KNOW what you're doing. Or get fired.

Here we have one of their own saying that it's just fine and dandy to infringe on my rights, in the name of safety.

I want to puke.


Lt. Fran Healy, special adviser to the police commissioner, acknowledged that some city cops apparently are unfamiliar with some concealed-carry permits. But he said that it's better for cops to "err on the side of caution."

"Officers' safety comes first, and not infringing on people's rights comes second," Healy said.
