Air Rifle/BB guns legality

Postby hkusp40cal » Mon Mar 30, 2009 12:39 am

I have been asking around and doing internet searches but can not find an answer. I like in knox county and want to know if it is ok to have my kids shoot a bb gun in the back yard with a proper backstop. I have asked at the various gun stores and also asked to police officers and I can't get a clear answer. Anyone know which law this falls under?

Thanks

There is no applicable state law prohibiting it although the reckless use of the air rifle/gun could result in either civil or criminal charges in someone is injured (e.g., an assault charge).

As far as Knox county, what you will need to check is the local zoning and charter for weapons use and possession.
