Extended Stay Hotel carry

Postby southerncarrier » Thu Feb 12, 2009 5:26 pm

I am staying at a extended stay hotel for four months. I live in Tennessee and have a handgun carry permit. The hotel does not have any posting anywhere that handguns are prohibited on the premises. The manager of the hotel verbally told me that handguns were not allowed on the property and in the rooms. So, therefore I will be trying to find somewhere else to stay but if they are against the law I would like to know because I will do my best to make a stand against them for our rights. Thanks in advance for your comments.

Generally, TN law requires posting under TCA 39-17-1359.

However, where an individual in authority gives a verbal/written notice regarding terms of occupancy then a violation of that notice may constitute grounds for a criminal trespass charge.

As someone else here stated; concealed means concealed. If it's not posted, why ask?
If actors bodyguards can have weapons, why can't I?
