How about pointing out that the Criminal Justice system is like a big net, with some rends and tears in it to boot. If Mr. Johnson's ilk performed their job, the guilty would be so convicted, and precluded now from carrying.

As it is, the system allows pleas and manipulation of the courts, the street cops do their job, and lay hands on the thugs, and the administration deals in draw downs of the charges to make their lives easier, putting individuals back on the streets, and if unconvicted of their crimes, allowing them the opportunity to obtain a permit to carry.

Maybe Mr. Johnson should take a hard look in the mirror? Maybe charges of malpractice are in order for the Prosecutors who deal down charges on dangerous people. Perhaps if every time a criminal who has been previously convicted, and who uses a firearm in the commission of a crime, the system were held liable for not protecting the Citizens by offering up a Prosecutor or Chief of Police to spend jail time for their lack of performance of their jobs.....
