Anyone know where you can get new barrels for an old 12ga skeet shotgun? I inherited one from a friend that is in bad shape. The barrel has such a badly pitted bore that it needs replacing. Not counting that it is so this I just want to replace it anyway. If I had another barrel it would be a decent gun. The rest of the gun had been refurbed not to long ago but was then put in a safe without moisture control. So the barrel is crap and the rest cleaned up excellent.

Thank you Mr. Archie. I really appreciate it. This is a decent looking old shotgun. For the price , hey I will not complain about putting a few dollars into it. At least it is not one of those chinese shotguns. I almost bought one a good while back. It was a fair copy of the Mossy 500 JIC (Just In case).

I am looking to get a shorter barrel for my 870...I could possibly sell you mine.

I don't think a Remington 870 barrel will fit on a High Standard pump shotgun, though I could be wrong.
The HS is a good shotgun. I almost bought one as my first shotgun, but wound up with a Mossberg 500 instead. If I recall
correctly, the only problem with the HS is that it has a single action bar, and thus it's possible to jam the gun by twisting that bar
if it's pumped too vigorously. The 870, Mossberg 500, & Winchester 1200 have double action bars for this reason.

David that is correct on the bar & if you get a little excited with it it will jam up. I remember this from shooting this very gun about 8-10 years ago. I had that happen when we were just shooting at paper and I wanted to see how fast I could empty it and well.... I found out if you try that it is very S L O W. I know there are a couple other brands out there that will fit. I just don't remember what they are. So until I find out I will be looking for a High Standard.
