Handguns for gals..go figure!!

Postby Fred762 » Fri Jan 06, 2012 12:58 pm

Recently my fiance' decided she wanted to 'move up' to a completely new type carry gun. She has her HCP and usually carries [and shoots well] a S&W 638 w +p ammo. She has decided a semi-auto would be better ....she wanted "more rounds and a faster reload" in these deteriorating political/economic times. I agreed w her and we went out to her backyard pistol range(yep, she lives out in the county) and I had her try out a bunch of semi autos, including 2 Smiths, a Glock, an accurized Colt.45, a Bersa .380, a Keltec p32, a Seecamp 32, even a WaltherP5 and one other which escapes me at this time. Strangely, she picked out the old Walther P5!!!!..aluminum frame, 9mm semi!! The thing is a used W German police trade-in, kind of a follow-on from the P-38-style guns, and I've had it for years, but it is light, shoots accurately and she loved it..it will be her carry piece from now on. Go figure! Aaaaahhhhhh!

My wife has an M&P 9 4.25 inch barrel. But she wanted something to carry so she has a Kahr CW9 and shoots both guns great. She uses the M&P in IDPA.

women! We switched again and got Ruger LC9s for the 3 of us...smaller and shoot pretty well for a compact. I'm used to carrying a Glock26 so the Ruger feels like a reeeeel small gun to me!
