Does anyone know where I could find the closest thing to original 1911 grips. I have a Springfield Armory GI 1911 that I would like to fit with original grips.

These are 100% correct for what you are wanting:

These folks carry a lot of hard to find grips for the old military pistols and revolvers, and their quality is top notch.

Here are some cocobolo grips. I think the checkered type are the ones that come on the springfields if I am not mistaken.
