Covington Leader publisher defends Naifeh

What is shown below is an exchange of emails between the Covington Leader's publisher Jay Albrecht and myself after I sent them a letter to the editor. Perhaps those that live in/near Tipton county will have the time to send their own letters in regards to Naifeh's misuse of power.

Dear Editor,
A tornado has struck; your town is flooded; a hurricane rips through your neighborhood. You, a law abiding gun owner, are armed in order to protect your family/home. Calls to 911 are impossible and government is tied up trying to restore order to the community. Then you're told to turn in your legal owned firearm by law enforcement. You and your family are now potential victims.
Think it couldn't happen? Remember New Orleans. Confiscation of legally owned firearms was recorded on film and numerous sworn statements of such actions were presented in court.
In an attempt to preclude such violations of civil rights and to ensure Tennessee citizens would be able to defend themselves after a crisis SB 2928/HB 3857 were submitted to the houses of the Tennessee General Assembly. Our state Senators respected our rights and passed SB 2928. We were made victims by the actions of the House Judiciary subcommittee on Constitutional Protections committee. The shadow operatives on this committee following Speaker Naifeh's hatred for a national organization ensured that HB 3857 died in committee.
Mr. Naifeh's personal feelings have often resulted in infringement of the rights of law abiding citizens so he can "prove" he is in charge.
This arrogance must stop. Our civil rights aren't a foil for a politician's ambitions.

Mr. Albrecht,
Mr. Naifeh has used his position to block many gun related bills because of
his hatred for the National Rifle Association, which is a matter of public

Thank you for clarifying that point, but I have to take issue with it. I
know from talking with Naifeh that he does not hate the NRA. You mention
the bills he has blocked, what about the bills he hasn't? How many of those exist?
I'm not taking sides here, I hope you understand. But I cannot publish a
letter that I know is false in what it states.
