December Knoxville TFA Chapter meeting
Posted: Wed Dec 03, 2003 2:13 am
The Knoxville TFA chapter met this evening and the good news is that we had four new faces at the meeting One has expressed an interest in joining TFA and another had renewed his membership (again) at the TFA gunshow table this past weekend.
Our speaker was Dr. Cliff Bryant, TAC 2, who gave a very informative and interesting presentation on personal protection and security. While Cliff (also a TFA member) stayed within his time limits, he was inundated by questions for another hour. This was an excellent presentation and those of you who could have attended but did not make the meeting missed some very valuable pointers. Dr. Bryant also passed out a CD titled "Introduction to Competitive Combat Shooting" for each of us to use at our leisure.
Our January 6, 2004 meeting speaker will be State Senator Tim Burchett (pronounced "Birch" as in tree, and "et" as in I et a tater --his comment, not mine). You can pretty much rely on Tim to have some interesting comments to make. I hope that more TFA members in the Knoxville area will start attending the meetings which are on the first Tuesday of each month at Bob's Mountaineer Restaurant in Seymour, TN on the Chapman Highway. Bob has graciously expanded our area to accomodate more people.
I would also like to thank the eight TFA members who helped man the TFA table at the November Holloway Gun show, five of whom were also present for the TFA meeting this evening. Now if we can just get some more of you at the meeting....
Take care now,
Bill Noll, TFA Knoxville
