Governor Jeb Bush of Florida recently signed into law new regulations allowing CCW holders to carry in Florida State Parks and National Forests.
What are the chances we can do the same here in Tennessee?

Until we get rid of House speaker Naifeh and the so called Constitutional Protection committee the chances of being allowed to carry in state parks is nil. For that matter any pro gun bill will be hard to pass with Naifeh in power.

Current state law does not prohibit possession in all state and local parks. Read TCA 39-17-1311 closely - in my opinion. The problem is partly to blame on Speaker Naifeh and his shadow operatives such as Kim McMillan (who I expect to see make a run for governor in 4 years) and Rob Briley.
However, in my opinion, equal if not greater blame can be assessed against local mayors - such as Bob Corker when he was the mayor - because most parks are off limits because signs are posted making them off limits. Those signs are not required unless someone in government decides that the property should be posted. If state law does not require it, as I would assert, then the problem is with those who are control of the properties because they are voluntarily posting properties which are not otherwise expressly off limits by law.
