carrying multiple handguns question

I have been told that it is okay to carry multiple handguns at the same time with a carry permit. I have not been able to find any law which confirms this. The State Constitution which says the legislature regulates the wearing of arms. While searching I only see the word handgun or firearm used never the word handguns or firearms. The exception is for cops in 39-17-1350(a) where it says they can carry firearms. My permit says "handgun carry permit" not handguns carry permit or permit to carry handguns. I'm pretty sure I can transport multiple loaded handguns and rifle in my car and doubt that anyone has been charged with a crime for doing this. I'd also be surprised if anyone has been charged for carrying multiple firearms on their person. So, I just wanted to ask some of the knowlegable people on the forum what their experience was. I'm going to start open carrying an AK47 pistol around along with a concealed pistol so I feel the need to double check. Maybe someone can cite code, an attorney general opinion, or previous court cases. Thanks.

Can you find a law expressly forbidding it? No? Then it is legal.

Tennessee does not allow the open or concealed carry of anything that is "loaded" other than handguns. TN did amend the law in 2009 to allow permit holders to vehicle transport longarms as long as there was no round in the chamber. Those without permits cannot even have ammo "in the vicinity" of the firearm.
