Beale Street off limits to carry?

Postby BB62 » Fri Sep 02, 2016 9:30 am

A discussion is underway on OpenCarry.org regarding the disallowing of firearm carry on Beale Street in Memphis. Here is the thread: http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/showt ... ound-there

As you may imagine, the question centers around how or if the authorities can do such a thing.

Here is an article from 2009 regarding the matter: http://www.wmcactionnews5.com/story/105 ... -detectors

"...Officials said Wednesday that starting July 17th, no guns will be allowed on Beale Street. All clubs and businesses will post signs notifying patrons of the ban. ..."

Are these actions legal and ongoing? Thank you.

the tyrants have adopted one aspect of Ayn Rand's philosophy -

"The question is not who is going to allow me, but who is going to stop me."

Obviously the answer is "no one", so it doesn't matter what the Constitution would have to say about it.

Ummm, not that I would GO there, but dang, if honest folks do not carry for defense, then only the THUGS in emphis will be armed on Beale St.
