I just got back from a carry class (for my wife) and the instructor stated "you can carry in a resturant as long as you are not drinking". I asked him to clarify and he said it was changed a few years ago.
My question is WHY are we still fighting to get something that we already have? or is he misinformed?
Absolutely not

If a legal instructor for the state of Tennessee told you that, he should be fired. That can and will get a lot of folks in trouble.
The fact is, as of right now, You "CAN NOT CARRY" a gun into "ANY ESTABLISHMENT" that sells alcoholic beverages to be consumed on site.
You can carry a gun into a store that sells alcohol "TO GO." But you may not go into restaurants or bars.

As an instructor, he is the one who is "supposed to know" what he's teaching. All he needs to do is review the Tennessee Code Annotated. I hope he learned a lesson.
Does he plan to contact the others in the class and correct the mistake?

Yes he does. Probally already has. It would help if the state would update the video once in a while also. the one I saw Sat. was the same one I saw 4 years ago when I took my class.
