January 20 2009 Chapter Meeting

Nashville Chapter is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm - please arrive early to get your orders in or start on the buffet. I try to arrive by 6:00 p.m. but we have had people arrive before 5:00 p.m. to socialize.

Location: Interstate Drive Shoneys in the meeting room. This is the Shoneys next to the Titan's stadium right across from the Gerst House.

At this time we are talking with State Representative Debra Maggart as a possible guest speaker. We are anticipating an interesting talk about what Tennessee's firearms owners can and should expect from a Republican controlled General Assembly

You do not have to be a TFA member to attend nor do you have to be a resident of Nashville. Everyone is welcome and encourage to bring guests - even spouses.

I want to encourage each of you to bring someone with you to the meeting who has not been to one or been to one recently. There's no cost to come (unless you eat) and Tuesday nights are rather slow unless you are planning to go watch the Metro Council debate raising our taxes.

Come a little early and have time for dinner, or just coffee and pie.

I spoke, briefly, with Rep. Maggart today (1/14).
She confirmed that she will be speaking at the meeting.
She seems excited at the chance to meet and speak with us.
Let us make her feel welcome.

We had a nice meeting tonight. Many new faces, return of some old ones, too.
The room was full. This is a happy situation.
Our server was a bit overwhelmed and quality of service suffered.
(Hint: come early and order a meal before the meeting.)
Great news about the gunshow recruiting. "Brother Bob" has a gift.
We also had a very interesting and informative presentation/Q&A with Rep. Debra Maggart and Rep. Mike Bell.
Rep. Bill Dunn was also present and all The Representatives took the opportunity to speak with everyone, FTF.
