K9 Night!

Sgt. Karen Douglas began her career with the Dickson Police Dept. in 1990. She got her first dog in 1991 and worked with the 23rd Judicial District Drug Task Force. She began her career with The Tennessee Highway Patrol in 1994. Trooper Douglas got her first canine with the Highway Patrol in 1999. She worked in the Lawrenceburg District until 2004, when she moved to Springfield. She worked her dog until her assignment to the Executive Protection Detail under Gov. Bredesen. Trooper Douglas got back involved with K9 in 2009 and has been there ever since. Karen got promoted to Sergeant over the K9 Division in 2014.

Trooper Shane Moore began his career with the Tennessee Highway Patrol in 2000, assigned to Montgomery County. He became a Drug Detection dog handler in 2008, and then a Patrol Dog handler in 2010. Trooper Moore was assigned to Nashville District Interdiction Plus team in 2012, for one year. He became an adjunct trainer of the K9 Division in January 2014, and a full time trainer in September of that same year. Upon joining the K9 Division in 2014, he also became a certified Explosives Detection dog handler. Trooper Moore is also a certified Decoy thru the North American Police Work Dog Association, where he has been an active member sense 2013.

Social / meal starts at 5:30pm
Formal meeting time is 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm

Seating is limited to about 100 so arrive early if you want a seat.

Arrive early - 5:00 to 5:30 would be good. Eat in the meeting room if possible and if not, get as close as you can. We will try finishing eating in the meeting room to clear out everything but drinks for the meeting if we have a large turnout.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO PAY AT GOLDEN CORRAL AS YOU COME IN FOR THE MEETING IF YOU ARE EATING. TELL THEM THAT AT THE CASH REGISTER THAT YOU ARE THERE FOR THE MEETING AND TO APPLY THE "GROUP RATE" WHICH INCLUDES YOUR DRINK.

You do not have to be a TFA member to attend nor do you have to be a resident of Nashville. Everyone is welcome and you are encouraged to bring guests.
