Stancil Ford's talk was interrupted several times with applause from the members at last night's meeting. Mr. Ford, chairman of the Hamblen County Commission, showed the same support for gun owners that he displayed when a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Mr. Ford supports the right of those with a HCP to carry in local parks stating we don't need more safe areas for criminals. He asserted that the "local opt out" provision of the park carry law would not pass the County Commission. He suggested that if it is on the agenda of the Morristown city council or the County commission that we "line the walls" with carry supporters. Mr. Ford also supported the right to carry where alcohol is served.

In direct contrast to the County Attorney's opinion on shooting in the county on one's own property Mr. Ford stated that it is not illegal to safely shoot on your own county property.

Mr. Ford answered the questions presented with confidence.
