The Shelby County Chapter of the Tennessee Firearms Association will meet Thursday, 8-18-05 at 7:00 PM at Range USA:

http://www.rangeusa.com/

2770 Whitten Rd. in Memphis. (Please support Range USA every chance you can!)

This will be one you don't want to miss! I'm pleased to announce our guest speaker will be Chief Joseph P. Ruff, Director of Training for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office; the 5th largest SO in the country.

With all the violent crime occurring in the Memphis area this summer; I think it's very important that we educate the public in avoidance, deterrence & de-escalation, while encouraging them to be prepared for the worst, if those options are exhausted.

Besides being an expert in firearms and tactics, Chief Ruff is one of the most well spoken, knowledgeable, Constitutional Conservatives you will ever have the privilege of hearing speak. Chief Ruff is on the short list of gentlemen who carry on the principals of our Founding Fathers today. He is also the President of the Defenders Of Freedom and a veteran of several branches of our military.

Additionally, we'll get our volunteer list started for TFA's involvement in the St. Jude Charity Machine Gun Shoot, Saturday, September 24th, from 1-6 p.m., also at Range USA. This is to benefit the area Friends Of The NRA and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Speaking of September, our guest speaker 9-15 will be Pro-Gun, Tennessee Republican Gubernatorial Candidate; Carl "Two Feathers" Whitaker. Carl has assured me that if elected Governor, he would push and sign common sense legislation into law, such as our restaurant bill, that empowers the lawful Gun Owners to protect themselves and their familles from violent criminals.

There will be a drawing for Range USA & TFA apparel. We'll promptly adjourn at 8:30. I look forward to seeing you there.

In Liberty,

Pat McGarrity
