The August meeting of the TFA Shelby County Chapter will be Thursday, August 21st at 7 PM at in Bartlett. The meeting will be in the classroom next to the Liberty Grille.

It gives me great, great pleasure to announce that our speaker this month is John Harris, Executive Director of the TFA. John has been involved in "the cause" at the state level since day one and has a unique perspective on where we've come from, where we are, and where we're going. As you may know, John is an attorney in Nashville who donates his time to the TFA. Find out more about him at http://www.slblawfirm.com/attorneys/jh.htm. We may need to move to a bigger room for this one.

Keep in mind that the Friends of the NRA Planning Committee needs volunteers to work the booth at the Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza, Friday through Sunday, Aug. 8 - 10. If you can help, please email Mike Webb at webb1959@aol.com. The next planning meeting will be August 26th at Memphis Sports Shooting Association at 7 PM. And, mark your calendar with the Friends of the NRA banquet date of October 9th at Woodland Hills. This will be an important fund raising event for the shooting sports, including the . Five hundred of us in one place in Shelby County.

The folks at RangeUSA have graciously agreed to change our meeting location from the classroom next to the Liberty Grille to the Liberty Grille, rearranged to seat a large audience. If you come in to eat before the meeting, please join us over to the right at the "bar".

Just wanted to say THANKS to everyone who turned out and participated tonight.

It was great.......

It was awesome. My son even enjoyed it and he is only 8. We got in the truck to leave and he said, " It sure was nice to be able to talk about gun stuff and know there weren't any liberals around. "

I really liked the idea of a response team that we could call in the event of a shooting. I would LOVE to see something like that and would be willing to pay more in membership dues to get it.
