The contact and letters to the editor page on their site is blank. If we can find a fax number or snail mail address we could get our letters to them.
They’re not called Pravda on the Cumberland for nothing…
Here is mine:
Dear Tennessean:
I’m a supporter of SB0023. This bill would empower restaurant owners of establishments that serve alcoholic beverages to decide if they would like to allow armed gun carry permit holders in their restaurants. The permit holders are prohibited from drinking alcoholic beverages in this bill, however, would be able to have their handgun in their possession, rather than leave it in their car where it may be stolen and arm criminals. This bill upholds the right of any restaurant owner, to post their establishment as one that prohibits armed patrons.
This is especially important here in the Memphis area, where there is a high rate of violent crime. The criminals determined to rob and murder patrons do not even consider the restrictions placed on the law abiding. At least 33 states have the policy that SB0023 supports here and there is no evidence of problems from this in these states. I hope your readers will support this common sense measure.
Sincerely,
Pat McGarrity
