As my late, wise Grandmother used to say; "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". I hope the latest crop of "anti-crime" gun bills are studied carefully before they are signed into law. We are awaiting copies so they can be studied.

This link explains the reasons why the current "Castle Doctrine" law is a step back for our rights, as it is currently written:

This can, and should be, amended next session with the corrections TFA Executive Director, John Harris, outlines above.

Tennessee Governor Signs Vital “Castle Doctrine” Legislation!

Today, Tuesday, May 22, Governor Phil Bredesen (D) signed House Bill 1907, the “Castle Doctrine” self-defense bill, into law.

HB 1907, sponsored by State Representative Randy Rinks (D-71), would allow an individual to use deadly force to protect him or herself wherever they have a legal right to be. The bill also provides civil immunity for those who defend themselves from criminal attack.

We would also like to recognize and thank State Senators Doug Jackson (D-25) and Paul Stanley (R-31) for sponsoring the Senate version of this legislation...
