Naifeh to retire from legislature

Although we have not faired as well under GOP Speaker Harwell, regarding gun rights, as Naifeh, it's still good to see "The Grim Reaper of Gun Rights in Tennessee" heading out to pasture. I guess if you can't be king, and probably not win your next election, it's time to take your marbles and go home.

Will Speaker Harwell take Gun Rights Reaper Title? Time will tell...

Naifeh to retire from Tenn. state legislature

(WMC-TV) – After more than 30 years in the Tennessee General Assembly, Rep. Jimmy Naifeh is retiring, sources tell Action News 5.
Naifeh, a Covington Democrat, is expected to officially announce his retirement during an address to the house at 9:30 this morning.

The 72-year-old was speaker for 19-years before losing the job in 2009 when Republicans took control of the legislature.
