Thats a pretty rough part of town. But I'll be by to see you when you get open. Provided there aren't any no gun signs on your door.

The rent was cheap and East Sector police station is about 2 minutes away. Easy access via Galatin Rd, I65, or Ellington Pky.
I was thinking of posting a "no concealed weapons" sign on the door with the proviso "valid permit holders excepted." In a business like that you want as many CCW folks around as possible.

I appreciate the offer, Tjbert47. I have thought a while about it and asked other dealers. One made the best comment: computers go down and lose information. Record books might burn, but that's a whole lot easier to explain. So it's a printed book for me. I got a couple already from the guy who advertises in SGN. I know I could make my own but starting off I feel more comfortable having a pre-printed book to keep me honest.

I am waiting on my friends, the noble public servants at BATFE. Sent in the application about 6 weeks ago. They told me at the outset 60-90 days so we'll see.
I met with a 1911 pistolsmith last Friday and we discussed my selling parts kits for that gun, obviously along with the books and videos on the subject. He has also agreed to give a class on the 1911, maybe trigger work or trouble shooting the guns or something.
As soon as I am good to go I will tell EVERYONE. I am not griping because I expected this but I have spent thousands of dollars and have had no revenue, much less profit. That's how it is, I guess.

As a small business owner myself WITHOUT BAFTE involvement...I feel your pain.
I don't want to miss the opening day if I can help it

I heard from my friends at BATFE on Friday. It looks like opening day will be beginning of June, perhaps first Monday of the month.
