I don't have a carry permit. But belong to the Gallatin Gun Club. What is the right way to transport firearms to the gun range? Does the ammo have to be seperate from the firearm? Just want to do it the right way. Got pulled over in Gallatin by the local cop. I didn't have my seat belt on. This joker questioned me for 20 minutes or longer. I had a a big target in the back of my Jimmy. He thought I had all kind of guns in the truck. I told him that I did not have any guns in my truck. I told him that there is no law against having a target in my truck. A real smart a_ _! I have never been talked to like that before. He was a rookie. I am 51. I am ready to get a carry permit. I have put it off long enough. Thanks, gearyr.

Dunno about the legalities, but at least file a complaint.

I suppose most law enforcement officers would not appreciate being referred to the State Constitution to which they take an oath to uphold. According to its Declaration of Rights, Article I, Section 26, we have a RIGHT to carry arms. But these days, it seems most elected officials and government agents despise the Constitution and Bill of Rights--state and national.
