Since the shootings last week several states have told the state NG commanders to arm some or most of thier full time staff. Today the Govenor announced that TN would stream line and shorten the process for military members to get the HCP. What he did not do was order BG Haston to remove his policy against firearms in vehicles on armory property. While TN does have the sadfe comute act, and many members of the guard already have HCPs, we face actions if we are caught with out guns in our cars at work or drill.
Just thought you guys would like to know.

It's would seem reasonable to follow what happens and put pressure on the Governor to break from tradition and use common sense. Our military personal should no longer be disarmed.

Here's a way to streamline the HCP process: Have the forms and finger print cards ready AT the gun ranges. When you go to take the class and shoot, an extra 15 minutes could be used to get FPs and fill out forms. FFL guys are well versed in taking FPs and Forms Filling Out( Iknow this from experience) so we could do it all at ONE time, instead of driving allover hellanback to get FPs and finding FORMS, etc etc . Just bring yer photo..[the teacher can SEE you are the guy in the pix]..and yer roscoe and yer ammo and yer $$$ and yer DONE. You do not have to go to DOT offices and stand in long lines behind 100s of illegal aliens getting Driver Licenses!!! Simple.
