In a story completely ignored by mainstream media, last Thursday the Senate filled an obvious hole in the Homeland Security program by approving legislation that will allow cargo pilots to carry guns, the same way that airline pilots can under the FFA Flight Deck Officer program.

I remain very concerned about the long term effects of the Homeland Security craze at the federal, state and local levels. It pushes us one step closer to "big brother" as the solution as opposed to individuals using personal initiatives.

On the issue of the post - arming airline pilots - I prefer the terrorist deterrent effect of having all passengers and staff on commercial airlines flying completely nude and indvidually shackled to their seats.
