Yes, you are correct. Our national legislators have discussed this for years, and with no positive resolution. BUT, our nation has never before faced an international enemy as insidious as the one that now confronts us. The necessities of defeating this new type of enemy may well require a lot of changes in the our thinking about fighting and national survival. Our government's perception of our domestic security needs have changed almost daily since we join the battle with al-Qaida. And, with our national military committments being what they are, our nation may even soon find it necessary to rely on it's armed citizenry to assist local law enforcement in the interdiction of localized attacks and possable civil disturbances, much like the nations of Israel and Switzerland have relyed on their citizens for years.

With all that said, I think it is imperative now that all citizens of this great nation, no matter what political party they may belong to or what they think of our national leadership, step up and begin taking an active role in the daily protection of this great nation. We all need to become firmly committed and active volunteers in OUR own Homeland Security. We just can't continue to "let someone else do it". There is no longer a place for fence sitters. We must all commit, for the long haul, to a great national patriotic solidarity to protect our homeland. This immense national show of committment, once underway, will once and for all convince our enemies that America CAN-NOT be defeated thugs and cowards that hide their faces behind towels. But, to launch this great national awakening, we must all finally recognize that al-Qaida and it's minions are truely out to kill our children, our wives, distroy our business's, our homes, and our way of life. Only when will we finally grasp the seriousness of what we now face as a nation will we begin to mobolize. Gentlemen, make no mistake, WE ARE AT WAR! Do not forget September 11th. Find some way to get involved and help win this war.
