I am receiving reports of and am experiencing myself intermittent problems logging into the forum. From researching this issue, it appears that there are some type of access attacks being made against a variety of forum software products where the attacks pick up the names of users and then attempt to force passwords until they get in - perhaps hoping to get through to an administrator's account.

I am monitoring for a patch to the forum software to address this and will install a supported patch if and when it is released.

ON our SFWDA.org forum they started using the additional code that rotates to different letters each time you log in. I can't remember the technical term for it but that may stop it.

Yep. At the time of this post I had problems. The forum said I used the maximum number of attempts to login after 1 attempt with the correct password. I was prompted me to use a "confirmation code", much like what is used to prevent bots from creating accounts. Oh well, good luck with repairs.

I have had no problems, in fact for me it's working better than usual.
