On Saturday, Feb 28, Bob Pope's guest on his radio show was House Judiciary Chairman Kent Coleman. It was a friendly interview as they both attended the same high school and have lived in the same area a long time. Those contacts were evident.
Chairman Coleman felt that a variety of the firearms owners bills, including restaurants, parks carry (perhaps state park only), and confidentiality would probably make it to a floor vote in the House in one format or another. There was some specific discussion on these topics and a few callers on very specific issues such as the restoration of rights for those with non-violent felonies.
Bob's radio shows are broadcast on 1200 AM in Nashville but discussions are taking place to go statewide. The shows are archived about 2 weeks after the show on his web site at www.bobpopegunshows.com Bob has a talent for getting high profile speakers including Lt. Gov Ron Ramsey, House Rep. leader Jason Mumpower, Sen. Judiciary Chair Mae Beavers, Rep. Donna Rowland, Rep. Susan Lynn, Rep. Steve McDaniel, State GOP leader Robin Smith, Rep. Ben West, Rep. Debra Maggart, Sen. Thelma Harper, Sen. Jack Johnson and Chairman Kent Coleman - and that is all since November 2008!!
Bob announced that Speaker Kent Williams is scheduled for March 28 and that Rep.'s Bass and Weaver will be on the air before then.
