I ran across a link to this sign in an www.opencarry.org forum message.

Someone else adapted the sign to the proper TN code citation.
I can guess at some reasons why a homeowner wouldn't want to post such a sign and some why he would want to post such a sign. My first thought was if that sign is posted and you shoot someone inside your house the sign will be used as evidence you shoot without due consideration. Obviously the sign has some deterrent value for burglars and also some value in where burglars looking for guns should go to work.
My question is what do experienced gun owners think about some indication that your house belongs to a gun owner. If not the sign above, what about something similar to an alarm company yard sign. I've seen one that says "this house protected by 2nd Amendment".
Is it best to be a covert gun owner or slightly more public about owning the gun. Both approaches seem to make sense to me.
