Many police chiefs oppose this bill because the departments don't allow THIER officers to carry in an "on premises" location. We have incidence after incidence after incidence of police officers with off-duty firearms and alcohol issues (not all TN, to be fair).

Given that these chiefs don't trust their own people with this matter, is there any wonder at all why they won't trust the general public? No doubt these chiefs are too embarrassed to come out & say why they specifically oppose this measure.

IMO, it's the same "reasoning" gun grabbers oppose firearms: because they themselves cannot control their emotions or actions & therefor they believe others cannot.

Does anyone recall the State Capital police officer (later THP) whom shot her brother with her dept. issued handgun over a tub of BUTTER? Is anyone surprised to learn that she KEPT her job?

Or the recently highly promoted THP officer (can't recall his name) who had a previous suspension on record when he shot his GF's tv set in a fit of rage?

Folks, these are the boobs we're having to fight this battle with. Much like argueing with an idiot, they drag you down to their level & then beat you with experience................
