The shoot that we are working on its a fund raiser that will likely be at least co-sponsored by TFA. It is a scholarship in honor of a teacher who retired after 37 years to help students who have lost one or both parents (I lost both of mine in high school for example) to complete their education.

As for what we are shooting, its still being worked out. What is on the list of full autos are a Thompson, a M14, several German WWII vintage subguns, MP5, Uzi, etc. along with some unusual items such as an AK that would be fun whether full or semi-auto. We are even talking to an individual about a belt fed semi-auto that is being rebuilt. Have not located any .50's yet but working on it. Mostly items that are not that hard to find just expensive to acquire.

The thought is that the scholarship endowment will cover the ammo bulk purchase and well as make the arrangements for the firearms to be available and, sort of like Knob Creek, charge say $20 to $30 per clip for the opportunity to shoot. The difference will be that a portion of the range will be open and traditional firearms will also be available for testing with range ammo.

How would TFA be involved? Sort of like the Memphis St. Jude shoot. I would like to see perhaps the Nashville chapter volunteer up as range officers, greeters, etc.

We are trying a small test run primarily with the individuals who would be providing the firearms and then trying to schedule the shoot itself perhaps in May.

I would advise (for the NFA guns anyway) use cheap brass or, Blazer Aluminum ammo. For the AK, Wolf will do fine. For anything other than expensive guns, Wolf really works pretty well. I use it in my AR for example, and while it is not exactly perfect, it does not cause problems, and saves me roughly $30 per thousand rounds.

Were either of the links of any use?

As an aside, depending on when in May, I may be able to escape Chattanooga and come shoot with you guys. Time will tell.

I have looked at Ammoman, CheaperThanDirt and Georga-Arms?

Prices seem to be pretty compared to when I last went shopping.

Actually, the best I have seen on 9mm is at Academic Sports and its not even on sale.

I would try www.georgia-arms.com & see if they'll cut you some slack on pricing for charity purposes?

Good luck!
