New Guy Checking In.

Good evening,
Was just re-reading John's book "Carrying a Handgun for Self Defense" and decided to drop by for some light reading.
I registered here a while back, but Yahoo! mail blocks emails here, so I never knew that I got approved.
Had to thumb through my manual again because on Saturday, the 30th of June I was getting out of my vehicle at Wolfchase to take a torque wrench back to Sears and forgot to recover my weapon after I uncovered it to put my seatbelt on.
Stepped out of the truck, heard a car near-by start up, covered the weapon.. low and behold, the person called 911.
Was stopped coming out of the mall by a very good officer who called out to me by name (ran my plates) as I was exiting. He asked if I was armed, told him I was, pulled my permit out of my pocket and gave it to him. He told me that some one had seen me go in, and told me to have a nice day.
I did instinctively go to Parade Rest. Probably should have thought better about hiding my hands.. but that big LEO reminded me of my old 1stSgt.
Luckily he didn't draw down on me as I was reaching for my permit.. that could have been a bad day.. as I know I'm left handed (keep the permit in the left pocket).. but he didn't.
Live and learn.. to conceal better.
Need to re-verify if Wolfchase has a no weapons policy again. Guess that is tomorrow's chore.
Take care guys,
Dudley Kelso
