I can not imagine the "Hospitality" group would be approving of that, the whole reason for the antiquated "Restaurant" designation was to limit insurance cost for "Restaurants" that sell more alcohol than they do food. Cheaper if you are a "Restaurant' than if you are a "Bar". It is all about the dollars.
The Alcoholic Beverage Commission serves at the pleasure of the Governor, and has no other regulatory overseers. They are so autonomous that they have been able to restrain the counting of beer as an alcoholic beverage for purposes of determining the percentage of food vs. alcohol in their audits. Oh, and by the way, they have been excused from performing them, (last I heard), for the previous several years. Hmmmm.
I did notice that the Legislature managed to kill the Open Container Law, again. Wonder how much that cost the State in lost Federal Highway dollars? Not that the Liqueur Lobby has any stroke in the State of TN, or anything like that.
