I haven't received a reply from bredesen yet, however only the uninformed or those unable to formulate for themselves, are unaware that this is simply fear mongering, i called fox news this morning and chastised them for airing on one side of the restaurant bill that they weren't calling by the proper name but by the one probably penned by serpas or bredesen and the guns in bars bill, and then to furthermore not inform the viewing audience of the facts, being that a citizen carrying may not consume alcohol at anytime and not while on the premises in question and that the owner had the right to post, ,, well fox news said, ok well i'll pass that on, i said just make sure you report all aspects of a story and not just one side, again i was told ok sir, i'll pass that on. there are words that government and police never bring up to what they consider an ordinary citizen, and that is ACCEPTABLE COLLATERAL DAMAGE,, meaning they would more readily accept a number of murders by criminals than give an encompassing power to the law abiding to defend themselves, moreover yes,THEY DO NOT TRUST YOU, cops screw up they kill accidentally, murders happen where food and alcohol is served,as they would have it an off duty cop could carry in such a place where you would not be allowed, and apparently they're allowed to lobby in full uniform with gun on the hip while we foot the bill, as i write this i just got the same form reply from our current dictator

At least 2 people have posted the same on the another forum, with others acknowledging that they've received it, as well.

This, too, is to be expected: form letters have always been used. However, they're now shared much more quickly, so
that they're seen as an insincere response by all.

Interestingly, we're told by our legislative friends that e-mail is an effective way to communicate with them (though
phone calls are better), BUT, when they see many multiples of the same message, then they're all discounted.

Funny, isn't it, how that same thing holds true for Governor Bredesen's mass-mail response?

Does anyone know what time, or in what order, the veto will be considered?

When does the Senate side vote?

The House is still in session. I've been watching it pretty much all day and haven't seen anything about 962 yet.

Here is my reply to Governor Bredesen's reply...

Dear Governor Bredesen,

Please allow me to explain the error in your quotation below. Common sense rules may apply to a privilege granted by the government, i.e. a drivers' license privilege; however, the government does not have the authority to restrict a right which was given to us by our Creator. God blessed me with the inalienable right to protect my family and myself, not the Tennessee legislature! We should revert the Tennessee Constitution back to its original language from 1796. If the 1834 constitution was wrong, is it not feasible the 1870 constitution is still wrong?

Sincerely,
Ben Burke

"It is because of this principle that Tennessee state law has long prohibited the possession of firearms in places that serve alcohol. House Bill 962 would remove this safeguard in a manner that I, as well as many law enforcement officers, believe would be reckless and lacking safeguards to ensure public safety. A key role of government is to ensure public safety. To do that, government must strike a balance between the rights afforded to us by the Constitution and common-sense rules that must be applied to the exercise of these rights."
