I have a family member who has some weapons ( long guns and pistols) that was left to her by her father who passed away some yrs ago and they are out of state ( Louisiana ) and she has not yet picked them up. I was asked to pick them up when I go down there soon. It seems to me that I read somewhere that even if a weapon is a gift if it is to be transfered out of state that the transfer has to take place on both ends by a FFL dealer did I just read wrong or is this the case thank you for a response
