Is it legal to have a gun rack in your truck, even if no weapons are on it?

didnt know it was illegal to have a gun in it if it was not loaded.

All a gun rack is, is a piece of oddly shaped metal. I doubt we haev laws against pieces of oddly shaped metal (Course, I am probably wrong.) That said, without a weapon, it is like a holster. Carry away.

some guy that doesnt answer my question. do you possibly know the answer? the officers that i have asked seem to think it is legal if weapon is not loaded.

Gunrack - legal
Longarms in it - must meet the statutory definition of "unloaded" see TCA 39-17-1302.
