National Rifle Association appoints Memphis resident as Election Volunteer Coordinator.
The NRA Institute for Legislative Action has appointed NRA Member J. Booth Outlan as the Election Volunteer Coordinator for Tennessee’s 9th Congressional District.
NRA EVCs are unpaid volunteers who coordinate the activity of NRA members working to elect candidates for public office. As Election Volunteer Coordinator for the 9th Congressional District, Outlan will interface with NRA-endorsed candidates at all levels in his district.
In addition to his duties as NRA EVC, Outlan is a second year law student at the University of Memphis School of Law. He owned a wine and spirits shop in midtown Memphis for five years before deciding to leave retailing behind and pursue a legal career. Prior to being a business owner, Outlan worked in the field of Information Systems, most recently as a network manager at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Outlan is a life-long hunter and shooter. He enjoys dove-hunting and waterfowling, and has an interest in American military firearms from the '03 Springfield and the 1911 to the M16 and beyond. He is also a member of the Tennessee Firearms Association.
