A liberal friend of mine (yes, I have liberal friends) sent the following link to me:
Here is my response:
Liberals typically equate liberty and justice with equality; equality not only before the law but economic and social equality. In order to have this type of equality one must do away with accountability. If people are held accountable for their decisions and actions the result is socioeconomic inequality. People who make good decisions and act responsibly usually hold a higher socioeconomic status compared to those who make poor decisions and behave irresponsibly. When people use guns to protect themselves or their property the result is often the ultimate act of accountability. The aggressor who seeks to deny another person their right to life or property often winds up in prison, in a hospital, or dead. In most cases at very least the aggressor leaves the confrontation empty handed. This is not acceptable to those who hold the belief that people should not suffer for their transgressions or poor judgment. No matter how much logic or how many statistics those who believe in the right to keep and bear arms bring to the table you will never convince those whose positions are guided by irrational emotion instead of logical thought.
