Happy Thanksgiving to our TFA Family

Postby C. Richard Archie » Thu Nov 26, 2009 11:56 am

Best wishes for a joyous Thanksgiving to all!

I will be stepping up onto my soapbox after the meal, my liberal bother and sister are sure to be full of merriment at the recent activities. I am sure the conversation will be animated!

It has been a good year for Tennessee's constitutionalists and gun owners. We may have seen what appears to be a setback with the recent ruling on the restaurant carry law but it does provide a) an argument to use with legislators to STOP trying to micromanage permit holders and simply exempt permit holders from the "thou shalt nots"; b) an opportunity to strengthen a restaurant law and perhaps a parks law that has more restrictions and with respect to local parks more "vagueness" than is reasonably necessary under the Tennessee Constitution; and c) and opportunity for TFA to grow and strengthen its grassroots base.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. I was making rather merry with friends & family yesterday. I had a few conversations myself about recent happenings. It got rather heated on the other end but I stayed calm. Finally drilled the point home on a friend who basicly had a gun grabber attitude. After watching him raise his blood pressure I presented the permit owners case to him and actually changed his mind to the point he went to the range with me today and he bought the ammo. Now he is looking for a handgun and has already reserved a seat for a class to get his.

So many people buy in to the media hype and scare tactics its nice to hear that once provided with the truth based on facts common sense minds can be changed. Good job
